That would be the Fringe in 2021, yes, there bloody was one! Those who dared to come had a brilliant time, as August went on seating and distancing restrictions relaxed, more acts turned up to try their luck, shows sold out all the time; it was all quite joyous and a bit anarchic.
I met so many lovely people that year, including ex-philosophy teacher turned stand-up Alex Farrow, now a Fringe favourite of mine (and not just for the hugs, his stand-up is definitely worth a watch, folks). Oh, and the stand-up on that last night was okay, but his final punchline was superb!
